The English High School Association Presents Scholarships to Outstanding Members of the EHS Class of 2025
The Stella & Emmanuel Mavridis Scholarship
This year EHSA is proud to once again work with Mr. George Mavridis, the proud son of an English High School alumnus, to select outstanding recipients of the Stella and Emmanuel Marvidis Scholarships. Selection of winners for this scholarship is a team effort between Mr. Mavridis and Sage Marsters, director of the EHS Alumni & Friends Tutoring Center on the English High campus.
This year, two outstanding seniors from the Class of 2025 were selected to receive awards. They are Laura Espinal Pere and Guidline Polynice
We look forward to watching the progress of all of these fine young people in the years ahead. Congratulations to all.

English High Alumnus Ed Thomas
The Sara O and Edward J. Thomas Family Scholarship
2025 is the first year for us to award the Thomas Family Scholarship which was established in honor of Sara and Edward Thomas. ’The scholarship is to be awarded annually to a graduating senior who has expressed interest in business or the medical field and who aspires to one of these interests in college or in a career.
The 2025 recipient of the Thomas Family Scholarship is Mehajabin Alam. Mehajabin has expressed a clear interest in pursuing a career in the medical field and she approaches this goal with the same passion and drive that she brings to all her endeavors.
The Coach Bill Stewart Jr. Scholarship
The Coach Bill Stewart Jr. Scholarship was originally established in 1987 and is awarded to the English High senior boy and senior girl who best exemplify persistence, competitiveness, spirit and good sportsmanship at English High School.
Recipients of the 2025 Scholarship are Nyera Williams and Janeudy Yohan Brea Collina

The Cullen Family Scholarship is established in memory of Francis T. Cullen ’39.
The Cullen Family Scholarship
2024 is the first year for us to award the Cullen Family Scholarship which was established in honor of Francis T. Cullen ’39 by his sons John Cullen ’65 and Frank Cullen ’68. The scholarship is to be awarded annually to a graduating senior who embodies the Cullen family’s penchant for learning and teaching.
The 2025 recipient of the Cullen Family Scholarship is Lizmarie Abreau.

The Nollman Family Scholarship
The Nollman Family Scholarship established by Myron “Mike” Nollman ’52 and first awarded in 2022. This year’s scholarship recipient is Yhan Medina.

The Alice and Harry Eramian Scholarship
This Scholarship was established in 2025 by Daniel Eramian ’66 in honor of his parents. Alice and Harry Eramian were both immigrants who did not have the opportunity to attend college. For many years they operated a small variety store, “Raky’s” in Eggleston Square just up the street from where English High is today.
The Scholarship is awarded to an English High student with plans to attend a four-year college or university
The 2025 recipient is Alicia Rosado who has also received a “full ride” scholarship to Northeastern

Richard M. Long, Esq ’62
The Richard M. Long, Esq Scholarship
Given in the memory and honor of Coach Bill Stewart Jr ’37
This scholarship was established by Richard M. Long, Esq of the English High Class of 1952. It will be awarded to a student athlete who has been accepted into a four-year college or university.
For 2025 the recipient is Armanis Steven Romero.

The Errol L.C. Brown Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Errol Brown by his father, George Brown ’60. George Brown established this scholarship in memory of his son Errol who passed away due to cancer. George wishes this award to go to a college-bound senior in the English High Health Assisting Career Pathways program.

English High Alumni George Brown ’60 established this scholarship to honor the memory of his son, Errol L.C. Brown. The 2025 Scholarship has been presented to Angelyze Gonzalez
