EHSA Scholarship Recipient Update
For Aubrey Scott ’24, Update on Her Road to Success Runs Through UMASS Boston
The Alumni Association is excited to highlight another outstanding scholarship recipient, Aubrey Scott, a 2024 graduate of The English High School. Aubrey is currently attending UMASS Boston to continue her studies in Pre-Med, with plans to graduate in four to five years. Her ultimate goal? To become a Pediatric Surgeon.
Reflecting on her time at EHS, Aubrey enthusiastically credits Ms. Sage and the Writing Center for shaping her academic journey. “Ms. Sage has helped me sooo much, and I’m very grateful for her every day. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be where I am or who I am,” she shared. While her transition to college was smooth academically, she acknowledges that the financial and mental aspects required more preparation on her end.
Aubrey was a frequent visitor to the Writing Center at EHS, which played a major role in her academic success. “Every assignment I had—projects, essays, presentations—I was in the Writing Center. You learn so many new skills, and I have always gotten a good grade on an assignment from being there.”
Her advice to current EHS students? “Just DO the work. TAKE ADVANTAGE. Take advantage of the help and support you have while you still have it. NEVER be afraid to ask for help.”
Aubrey lives by the motto: “Take it bird by bird,” a reminder to tackle challenges step by step. With her determination and passion, we have no doubt she will soar in her journey toward becoming a Pediatric Surgeon. We look forward to following her success!
