A Very Special Holiday Story:

The Spirit of English High School

Recently, we became aware of the amazing efforts of a small group of long-time English High supporters who came to the aid of an EHS alum who is currently studying law overseas. [This is not a Christmas story!]

An EHS alum, finding themselves in a challenging financial situation, reached out EHSA to ask if we were aware of any avenues that may be available to support their studies.  While we were not able to offer help as an Association, we connected the alum with one of our most generous EHSA benefactors and the result has been miraculous. Our benefactor made the decision to “pay it forward” once again, providing the alum with funds to continue their studies.

We share this story with you as yet another heart-warming example of the decency and compassion of individuals in the English High community.  We like to think of it as the Spirit of English High School — men and women who are willing to lend a helping hand to our young alumni so they may get the right start in the world – knowing there will be a time when that young alum will pay it forward themselves.

And we hope this story will be an inspiration to you as well — to pay it forward and keep the Spirit of English High School alive for another 200 years.

Happy Holidays from all of us at The English High School Association.
