NEW!
Edward Weston ’70
I blinked my eyes and 53 years have gone by since our graduation. After getting my BA from Dartmouth, I worked at a couple of jobs in Boston until I headed to Washington, DC in 1981. Then in 1984, I started a 10-year tenure at Time-Life in Alexandria, VA, first as Director of Staff Services for Time-Life Books and later Director of Admin. for Time-Life Libraries. My career took a completely different track when in 1996 I joined AAA as a travel counselor. It was probably the most fun I’ve had working. I sold travel products to members; managed our group travel programs; became a certified trainer of other travel agents; and eventually the Travel Product Development Specialist, designing travel programs for our local club members and for the AAA national organization. But best of all, I often escorted our groups and got to travel internationally to places a kid from Dorchester could only dream of.

I retired to Los Angeles in 2015 and would still be there if the new President of Dean College in Franklin, MA had not recruited me to come out of retirement to work for him for a year as the Executive Director of Events & Executive Functions. So I find myself back in Boston, living again in the family home I grew up in. But once this gig is over in a few weeks, it’s back to LA.
