Jacques Fleury ’89
After graduating from both Boston English High School and The Hubert Humphrey Occupational Resource Center (ORC) in 1989 {and awarded a scholarship from English High and received the Cluster Craft Person Award from ORC}, Jacques Fleury became a Haitian-American poet, educator and author. After attaining an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Massachusetts in Boston, he is taking graduate classes in the literary arts and social sciences from Harvard University online for personal enrichment. Fleury has been featured in four anthologies and published three books which include Essays, fiction and poetry {one of which was endorsed in the Boston Globe and two of which have been accepted to be archived at the University of Massachusetts’s Healy Research Library in Boston}and had three of his poems turned in songs by Neo-Folk music group Sweet Wednesday, he now works as columnist, an Academic Support Specialist for the Cambridge Public Schools and as a private Certified Tutor. He plans to inquire about becoming a volunteer tutor for the English High tutoring program to give back to the community that has given him so much. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

1984 EHS Graduate *1984 Hubert H. Humphrey O.R.C Graduate – Electrical/ Electronics *1986 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers L.U. 103 J.A.T.C. Telecommunications Apprenticeship Graduate – I attended the very 1st I.B.E.W. L.U. 103 J.A.T.C. telecommunications class and was the 1st minority telecom apprentice. *1986 to Present Edward G. Sawyer Co.- LCN telecom division. E.G.Sawyer Is the oldest electrical contractor in the USA established in 1864. I started as a telecommunications apprentice and I am presently the General Manager of the LCN telecom division.

In September of 2017, Allan joined the Board of Directors of Boston English High School. He was honored to be the commencement speaker for EHS in 2006 and was honored again in 2018 to address the graduates, as the Alumni speaker during the 197th Commencement Ceremonies.

Lisa Martinez ’82
Recently connected the Business Technology teacher, Ms. Ferreira, to an INTA (International Trademark Association) member who specializes in copyright Law. She is looking to present at a BPS school as part of this year’s Unreal Campaign. The mission is to educate young people about trademarks and counterfeits and why they are important to not just businesses but to them as consumers.
