Martin Bookspan, EHS ’43, the Cultured Voice of Lincoln Center Telecasts and NYT Music Critic
Martin Bookspan, English High Alumnus in the wartime class of 1943, was recently remembered by EHSA Board of Directors member Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse ’44. Woody remembers Martin as a good friend and one of the first English students to ever achieve straight A’s. Martin went on to attend Harvard, graduating in 1947.
Martin was also the long-time host of the PBS Concert Series “Live From Lincoln Center.”
Martin Bookspan passed away April 29, 2020. His former newspaper, The New York Times, paid tribute with this article.
