Board members, Coaches and Alumni.

The English High School Alumni Association brought the excitement of tournament season to life with a lively March Madness Alumni Party held on Saturday, April 4th at Boston Ale House. From 5:00 to 7:00 PM, alumni gathered for an evening filled with camaraderie, great food, and spirited fun—all in support of English High School students and staff.

A total of 27 alumni attended the event, with some eager guests arriving as early as 3:50 PM to get the celebration started. The energy carried throughout the evening, with many guests enjoying the full event and a dedicated group of eight staying well past closing time, wrapping up around 8:35 PM. It was clear that the combination of good company and March Madness excitement made for a memorable night.

Guests were treated to free food, a cash bar, and one of the evening’s biggest highlights—a raffle featuring over $950 worth of prizes. All 17 raffle items were awarded, including an Apple AirPods, a signed football from Emmitt Smith, a 44-inch smart TV, a Solo Stove, gift cards, basketball-themed baskets, and more. The excitement around the raffle added an extra layer of fun and anticipation throughout the event.

Beyond the festivities, the evening also highlighted the mission of the Alumni Association. Board members Wayne Lucas ‘68, Tom Connors ‘68, Henry Russell ‘61 and Greg Hayes ’67 were in attendance, showing their continued commitment to the organization. EHS Coaches were in attendance too. Greg addressed the group, sharing ways alumni can support the English High School Alumni Association in its efforts to provide resources for students, teachers, and athletic programs. He also announced an upcoming event—the Hawaiian Shirt Luau planned for early October at Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse—giving attendees something to look forward to this fall.

This event delivered on its core purpose, bringing alumni together. Laughter, conversation, and shared memories filled the room, reminding everyone of the strong and lasting bond within the English High community.
