Who Was That Beautiful Voice?
Since our Daring to Dream program on October 2nd, many alumni have reached out to ask, “Who was that beautiful voice who performed our Alma Mater?”
We are pleased to tell you it was Award-winning Jazz and Latin vocalist Lauren Henderson and her musicians give the traditional English High School alma mater a fresh update as the finale of our Daring to Dream program and it was a highlight of the night.
Lauren has been described as “somewhere between a comforting whisper and a cogent declaration” by The New York Times. Her music resonates with listeners around the world and she has very special connections to English High School
This internationally-known singer has true English High bloodlines on both sides of the family. Her father is Arnold Henderson, Jr. a member of the EHS Class of ’66, and her uncle, Arthur Gerald, is a member of the Class of ’65.
“I think that anything that can be done to support English High is great and I was very pleased to hear that Lauren was going to be involved in this.”, said proud dad Arnold.
