Darlene Wynn, ’79, Well-Known Vocalist to Lead Alma Mater on October 1st

Darlene Wynn, English High School Class of 1979
The well-known EHS alumnae vocalist who performs often in the Boston area has accepted an invitation from EHSA to lead the group in singing of our Alma Mater at the 200th Anniversary Gala Event on October 1st at the Marriott Copley Plaza Hotel.
As all will recall, the singing of our school song, our “Alma Mater” was an important part of events and gatherings during our years at English High…and remains so to this day. So there was no question that a group singing would be part of our 200th Anniversary Gala Event when alumni from eight decades gather in Boston on October 1st.
For those of you who may not have had a chance to sing lately, here are the words:
Alma Mater, tried and true
English High, our English High
Oft our hearts shall turn to you.
English High, our English High
Should e’er the laurel wreath be mine,
I’ll lay the honor at thy shrine.
Our heart, our hope, our prayers are thine
English High, our English High
Men may come and men may go.
English High, our English High
Yet in deep and peaceful flow,
English High, our English High;
Shall thy stream of learning wide,
Through the ages grandly glide.
Ever to thy son a pride.
English High, our English High
