Air Industry Safety Expert John Goglia ’62, Soars as Guest Speaker at English High Alumni Breakfast

Forty-six English High School alumni convened for the most recent Alumni Breakfast honoring graduates of America’s first and oldest public high school, now in its 204th year.
The guest speaker for the February program entitled ‘Buckle Up’ was John Goglia ’62, an air industry expert who devoted his entire career to improving flight safety — and who may be responsible for your safe flights over the last several decades. He is still consulted on aviation safety issues and logs over 250,000 air miles annually consulting on crashes for the FAA. The event was held at the Newton Marriott Hotel.
English High is one of a small group of high schools able to boast alumni residing in all 50 states. According to Michael Thomas ‘67, President/CEO of the English High School Association, there are some 17,000 alumni ‘out there’ with about half living in Massachusetts. He says, “We’re doing everything possible to add them to our mailing list.”
If you know English alumni who are not in touch with EHSA, encourage them to join our mailing list through our website or by calling the Association offices at 857-547-1391.
