Sara O & Edward Thomas Family Scholarship
Andrea Inestroza (Jimenez)
Andrea is a leader among her peers. She is friendly, kind, and deeply passionate about helping others. Her maturity is evident in the way she handles conflict and supports those around her. Andrea was nominated to participate in our peer mediation program early in her 11th-grade year and has continued serving in this role throughout her senior year. During this time, she has been an active participant and has consistently demonstrated the skills, empathy, and maturity needed to help peers resolve conflicts peacefully and constructively. In this role, she is thoughtful and reflective, asking meaningful questions that guide peers toward understanding and resolution.
In addition to her leadership and service to others, Andrea is also enrolled in the Nursing Assistant program. She recently passed her CNA exam and will graduate with her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate, an accomplishment that will support her entry into the medical field.

Michael Nollman Scholarship
Jael Antonio Ruiz Perez (CDG)
Jael is an exemplary senior. He leads with integrity, dedication, and enthusiasm. Throughout his time at EHS he developed a reputation not only as a wonderful friend and student, but also as a young man who can be counted on to step up and lead in any situation. It is with pride that we award Jael the Michael Nollman Scholarship. Jael will be heading to UMass Boston and studying to be a nurse.

Alice & Harry Eramian Scholarship
Yonairy Alvarez Diaz
Yonairy Ysabel Alvarez Diaz is a hardworking and focused student. She sets higher and higher standards for herself and continues to reach and exceed them. She has been an AP Ambassador for the past two years and encourages her classmates to pursue their goals. She is a quiet leader and a wonderful example for her peers. Yonairy will be studying Biology at Northeastern University this fall.

Celeisha Ortiz Guerrero
Celeisha stands out as a student with a great attitude and bright spirit. Her thoughtfulness is matched by her intelligence and wonderfully positive disposition. No matter the challenges in front of her, she dedicates herself to her learning and to the success of her peers. It is for these reasons that I am proud to award her the Errol Brown Scholarship.

Richard Long Esq Scholarship
Nathasha Paredes
Nathasha is so well deserving of this scholarship- she is a driven leader on and off the court. As a volleyball player, she is often looked to by her team for leadership and kindness, which she is always willing to give. Those characteristics carried over to the classroom and student government, where she is always willing to share an idea or voice her opinion. English High is lucky to have a graduate like Nathasha! Nathasha will be studying Psychology at Simmons University in the fall.

Stella & Emmanuel Mavridis Scholarship
Gabriela Ramos & Daniel Mendoza

This year, The Stella and Emmanuel Mavridis Scholarships will be awarded to two seniors who have used the Tutoring Center over their senior years to develop their writing and deepen their thinking. These students exhibit kindness, steadfast determination, the drive to learn, and a commitment to using their knowledge and skills to help others succeed as they have. Please celebrate this year’s amazing scholarship winners: Daniel Mendoza and Gabriela Ramos.
Gabriela Ramos will be studying nursing at Northeastern University and Daniel Mendoza will be studying Computer Science at UMass Boston.

Rosmely Santos & Elijah Marcus Johnson

Rosmely Yadiel Santos Martinez pushes herself to perform at the highest level in everything she does. In her time at English High School she has excelled in academics, athletics, visual design and culinary arts. She has been an active member in the English High School Tuskegee Airmen project and has been an AP Ambassador for the past two years. Rosmely is always ready to participate in any community service activity and her enthusiasm draws her classmates in to whatever she is doing. She brings dedication and joys into everything she does. She is an exceptional student who has also played a major leadership role in our Culinary Arts Café by managing finances, organizing deliveries, and helping oversee daily operations. She is an overachiever whose dedication, discipline, and professionalism consistently stand out. Reliable and highly motivated, she always follows through on her responsibilities and approaches every task with maturity and excellence. Her strong work ethic, leadership skills, and commitment to success make her an outstanding candidate for future academic and professional opportunities. We are so proud of you Rosmely.
Elijah is a selfless student, both on and off the field. He is a true leader and team player, always putting the needs of the team above his own. He has served as a role model for the underclassmen, leading by example through his work ethic, humility, and positive attitude. It has been incredible to watch Elijah’s growth on the field over the last few years, culminating this season as he led the defense in blocked receptions. His dedication, perseverance, and commitment to improvement have made a tremendous impact on the team.
Beyond football and academics, Elijah is also a valued member of the debate team and truly embodies all the qualities this scholarship represents. He is a leader among the newer debaters and has a unique ability to keep the team calm, focused, and confident heading into tournaments.
We are incredibly proud of you, Elijah, and excited to see all that you accomplish in the future.

Ismara Diaz
Ismara is determined, resilient, driven, sweet, and understanding. Perhaps her greatest strength is her ability to maintain her focus when things are challenging. Her gentle presentation can mask her fierce determination and ability to complete tasks. Throughout high school, she has earned honor roll grades, while participating in multiple extracurricular activities. I cannot think of a more deserving candidate for this scholarship award!
