Lisa Martinez ‘8
Director & Trustee
Lisa Martinez, EHS Class of ’82, is currently the Director of Technology, Enrollment and Information at Greater Lowell Technical High School and District. She joined Greater Lowell in 2017 following an outstanding career at Boston Public Schools.
Lisa has served in a variety of roles during her thirty years in the field of education:
2014-2017 English High School, Assistant Headmaster; 2012-2014 Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, Director of Technology; September 2002-2012 TechBoston Academy; Chief Academic and Technology Officer. Additional roles Lisa held at BPS included, Adjunct Professor at UMB, District Technology Trainer, English Teacher, Athletic Coach, and Teacher Mentor. Before entering the field of education, Lisa was the Regional Technology Training Director for a large accounting firm in Boston.
Lisa had many notable accomplishments during her tenure at BPS. She led the team at EHS that launched six exemplary technical programs that were awarded Chapter 74 ESE approval; while at the same time, achieved remarkable increased academics and MCAS scores in both English and Mathematics. In 2016, Lisa co-authored and was awarded a $187,00 MA Skills Capital Grant to build a program in Protective Services at EHS. She also recruited and fostered new EHS partnerships with Teach Next Year, Ernst & Young College MAP, Huntington Theater, and other industry and higher education partners. Lisa was one of the founding staff/design team members of TechBoston Academy, an original Gates Secondary Model Pilot School. In March 2011, she was a liaison to the White House and Secret Service for President Obama’s school visit and press conference that recognized TechBoston Academy’s achievement.
Lisa holds a Bachelor’s in English from University of Massachusetts, Boston and a Master’s in Education in Technology from Cambridge College. She is working toward her Master’s in Liberal Arts with a concentration in English at Harvard University.
