Chair’s Year End message
Dear English High Alumni and Friends,
As we close out another meaningful season at English High, this issue of the newsletter celebrates pride, purpose, and partnership. We begin by reliving a true Thanksgiving tradition—the thrilling English High triumph (40-30) over Boston Latin in the annual Thanksgiving Day football game. Once again, our Blue & Blue showed heart, determination, and the enduring spirit that defines English High.
You’ll also find an important reminder about taking your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) before year end, and how supporting the Alumni Association through your RMD can help sustain programs that benefit today’s students and future graduates.
This issue proudly features a portrait of Jerry Colonna ’21, highlighting his career in acting and comedy throughout his amazing life. We also spotlight a recent English High field trip to the West Roxbury Court, offering students valuable real-world exposure to the justice system.
Our community connections continue to grow. Read about the Alumni Pizza Party, an update on Aubrey Scott’s college journey, and the outstanding performance of our students at the recent cheerleading competition. These moments underscore the power of mentorship, opportunity, and encouragement.
Finally, we are proud to share news of the Alumni Association’s new partnership and donation to the Boston Private Industry Council, reinforcing our commitment to career readiness and student success.
Thank you for staying connected and for all you do to support English High School of Boston—yesterday, today, and always.
Go Blue & Blue!
Sincerely,
Greg Hayes
